We nominated our smoking hot resident chef, Chef Jo, for Swallow Food’sToronto’s Hottest Chef competition because she and her recipes are HOT, HOT, HOT! Some of your all-time favorite recipes have come from Chef Jo, like our Cheddar Cornbread Jalapeno Poppers, Baked Lobster & Brie Dip and her award-winning Kimchi Quesadillas.
To honor Clean Eating’s late founder and all-around fitness guru, Robert Kennedy, Chef Jo selected the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine as her charity of choice, to which proceeds would be donated if she won. AND WIN SHE DID! Chef Jo took home the first ever Toronto’s Hottest Chef whisk trophy thanks to her Kimchi Quesadillas, and $3000 went to the CCNM.
The winning recipe, completely clean and vegetarian, toppled four competitors from various Toronto restaurants, whose spoon-laden finger foods and lobster-ific creations couldn’t defeat our gal’s spicy, food truck-inspired quesadillas.
Those who weren’t on-hand to taste and vote were encouraged to vote via Twitter, and we couldn’t help snapping a few shots of Chef Jo votes projected on the big screen.
In the promo trailer, Chef Jo got catty.
Standing in front of the quesadillas with Chef Jo – I must have had five!
Clean Eating at the door. What a night!
