When you think of vegetarians, you assume that they’re healthy and slim. Not so! Many vegetarians are overweight — even obese. Fight the fat by making cleaner food choices. Tofu and other soy products are superb protein sources, as are quinoa, nuts, legumes and nut butters. Avoid preparing them with saturated and trans fats, sugars and other additions to keep them clean. Pair these protein sources with an array of complex carbs from fresh fruit, vegetables and whole grains. You can’t get it wrong if you stick to clean-eating choices that suit your palate and food preferences. That means laying off the chips, cheese puffs and pretzels, too. Embrace vegetarianism and clean eating and watch your body transform.
