This homemade lavender foot soak will soothe and soften with just a few natural ingredients. Epsom salts alleviate achy feet while sea salt helps to exfoliate, reduce inflammation and speed up the healing of any small cuts or abrasions. And not only does lavender have a lovely, calming scent, but its oils are also antibacterial. Overall, this foot soak is quick and easy – leaving you with more time for some R & R this summer!
1/2 cup Epsom salts
1/4 cup fine Himalayan pink sea salt
20 drops lavender essential oil
1 tbsp dried lavender buds, optional
*Organic ingredients preferred.
Pour Epsom salts into a deep basin large enough to fit your feet. Add sea salt and lavender essential oil. Pour about 2 quarts warm water into basin and add dried lavender (if using). Soak feet for 20 minutes.
After soaking, you can use some of the sea salt to exfoliate your feet and the lower part of your legs or use a pumice stone to remove any rough spots on your heels and toes. Towel-dry your feet and smooth on an all-natural moisturizer such as shea butter or coconut oil.
