1. Rich, creamy and with just the right amount of sweetness – raw honey is one of our favorite natural sweeteners. We love that this brand is pure and unadulterated, plus it tastes delicious! $9, honeybunny.ca

2. Their 100% sun-sweetened cane sugar, made from evaporated cane juice syrup, can be used interchangeably with white sugar – you can even get single-use packets for coffee on the go! $3.50 per 2-lb bag, floridacrystals.com for retail locations

3. Their 100% sun-sweetened cane sugar, made from evaporated cane juice syrup, can be used interchangeably with white sugar – you can even get single-use packets for coffee on the go! $3.50 per 2-lb bag, floridacrystals.com for retail locations

4. Made from pure maple syrup, you can get these delightfully crunchy flakes (formerly called Equinox Organic Maple Flakes) in a grinding mill or by the bag and look forward to half the calories of sugar and close to a third of the calories in raw honey. $8 to $11, igourmet.com

5. Made from a naturally occurring sugar alcohol found in some plant, vegetable and fruit fibers and completely GMO-free, xylitol is a good substitute for table sugar (though some find it slightly sweeter). Warning: Toxic to dogs. $8 to $28, xlear.com

6. We love that stevia has a low glycemic index, is calorie free and completely natural – it stems from a South American herb. Use sparingly in baking or to sweeten beverages – it’s very sweet! $5 to $9, buywisdom.com
