Best Grilling Racks

There's nothing that says summer like grilling out. A few cold drinks, some meat, and good company can beat any fancy meal at a sit-in restaurant. But grilling out also means lots of company, and oftentimes our grills can't fit enough food for everyone. That's where grilling racks come in. These racks can nearly double your grilling space, not to mention provide optimal cooking setups for different types of food, from seafood to barbecue. Below are some of the best grilling racks, arranged by what we recommend you use them for.

Perfectly-Shaped Grill Ports

This is the prime rack for those doing a lot of seafood grilling, with a grill designed especially for holding shellfish.

What We Liked

This rack from Steven Raichlen is the best rack we’ve found for grilling seafood, with grill slots that hold shellfish in place, retaining their juices for premium cooking. It goes beyond that though: the rounded grill ports work great to grill everything from stuffed mushrooms to artichokes to mini potatoes, nesting them securely in place and providing even grilling while preventing possible spills. Anything round or stuffed, this grilling rack is perfect for, but it does fine with general meats, poultry, and fishes as well. Buy it now.

Best for Bacon

Cuisinart CNBR-181 Bacon Grilling Rack

None

Great Grease Catcher

This rack is optimized for grilling bacon, with a folding design and grease catcher.

What We Liked

The Cuisinart rack isn’t one we’d recommend for general grilling, but it’s the Holy Grail of bacon grilling racks, with a compact folding design and grease catchers on either side to minimize messes. The non-stick surface makes cleaning easy. This isn’t just great for bacon, it’s an awesome grilling rack for any strip meats, and also works well to heat tortillas for taco nights! Buy it here.

Best for Barbecue

Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett Upper Rack & BBQ Shredding Claws Combo

Awesome Shredding Claws

The included shredding claws in this set make it easy to shred up pork for a BBQ.

What We Liked

This is a smaller rack at 14″ x 10″, but it includes a set of shredding claws, which make shredding a breeze when barbecuing. This is a great combo set for those looking to do a lot of barbecuing. It works well for everything from chicken, beef, brisket, turkey, poultry, hams, roasts and more, so if you’re going to host a lot of BBQ parties, this is the set you’ll want to buy. Get it now.
