Big News: Clean Eating & Outside Are Joining Forces

Clean Eating’s parent company acquires Outside magazine, Outside TV, Gaia GPS, athleteReg, and Peloton Magazine, boosting the depth and diversity of storytelling and services in our Active Pass membership.

Cooking is our passion and purpose but we also love to get outside. Clean Eating editors connect with nature in different ways. Some of us walk, run or cycle, others plant gardens, climb mountains or go hiking in the hills with our families. And we’re all looking forward to firing up the grill in the backyard as the weather warms up (there’s snow on the ground in our Colorado HQ at the moment).

As nature lovers, we’ve always enjoyed the masterful writing, photography, and movie-making that Outside magazine and Outside TV produce year after year after year, which is why we’re so excited to announce that we’re now all part of the same family. Our parent company, Pocket Outdoor Media (POM), has acquired these iconic brands, along with Gaia GPS (the leading mobile mapping application for backcountry adventure), athleteReg (one of the world’s largest event registration services), and Peloton magazine (the highly respected cycling publication).

And on top of that, our bigger, better new company will be known as Outside. You can read more about this news here.

The acquisition of these brands and rebranding of POM as Outside, which was announced today by our CEO Robin Thurston, is great news for fans of Clean Eating—and even better news for members of our Active Pass program. “Everything we do is driven by a belief that a hike, run, ride, or yoga practice can change your life,” said Thurston, “and these amazing brands will help us fulfill that mission by expanding the content and experiences we can offer you.”

This won’t change all the trusted, inspiring content you’ve come to love from Clean Eating. In fact, it means even more content to inspire your healthiest, happiest life, from more stories about functional nutrition, culture, more recipes, more fitness tips, and more product reviews.
