1 small head chopped romaine (about 10 oz)
8 oz chopped spinach
1½ cups chopped celery (about 2 stalks)
1 apple, peeled, cored and chopped
½ cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
½ cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
1 banana, cut into pieces
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 cups water
1. In a high-powered blender, blend the romaine, spinach and 2 cups of water.
2. Add the celery, apple, pear, cilantro and parsley (if using) and blend again.
3. Add the banana and lemon juice, blend and scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure incorporation.
