Clean Eating: How do you eat on the go?

Bethenny Frankel: No two days are the same. There is no typical day. You have to listen to your body, think about what you have around you and do the best you can. You can find healthy food anywhere; you just have to know where to look.

CE: Did you find that your eating habits or diet changed while you were pregnant?

BF: It didn’t really change that much but I had some cravings. I love avocado, so I had a little more of that. There are still days where you eat things that aren’t great, so you balance it out. It shouldn’t be one big binge.

CE: Where do you get inspiration for your recipes?

BF: I use whatever I have in my house. If I’m making a salad and am in the mood for something ranch flavored, I’ll take the Greek yogurt out of my fridge and then play around on the Internet to find out what other foods I have that are most similar in flavor to a ranch dressing. I don’t like to waste food.

CE: Do you think it’s important when entertaining to have a signature drink or mocktail?

BF: I think it’s great to have a signature drink because it saves time and money. People will always drink the signature drink if you just have a pitcher prepared ahead of time and offer glasses. It makes your life a lot easier rather than having everyone drinking whatever they want. And that way you can make sure you’re serving something healthy.
