An ancient superfood, ginger contains a myriad of ingredients and health benefits. First of all, it’s an atiemetic, meaning it can prevent and treat nausea and vomiting. That’s why mom always gave you a ginger ale when you had an upset stomach as a kid. Secondly, its antimicrobial and antiviral properties make ginger a natural remedy for colds and flu, and its immunity-boosting properties might keep you from getting sick in the first place.
In short, you should probably be eating more of this pungent, spicy plant. But, it’s odd shape and dense, fibrous texture make it difficult to peel…until now.
